Labeled names

Besides the usual user information an authentication may serve additional information about the user. These are provided as so called labeled names. These are key/value pairs that contain certain additional information about the user.

What is served as user label depends on the authentication module used and its configuration. See the documentation of the authentication source on what is served.

Labeled names can be retrieved in WebTML for the current user as metadata fields. See entry "userlabel_*" on the WebTML Metadata reference of type="db".

Predefined labeled names

Some labeled names are predefined and provide standarized data across authentication sources:

Label name Contents
commonname Short common name of the user, suitable for display. Non-unique.
