OpenWGA 7.0 - Updating to OpenWGA 7.0

New image scaler bundled and default

OpenWGA 7.0 comes with a new image scaler implementation which is preinstalled (no need to install a separate plugin) and is based on the "ImgScalr" library. It should provide an improved quality of thumbnail images compared to the "Advanced Image Scaler" which was used up to OpenWGA 6.2 and needed to be installed via a separate plugin.

This new scaler implementation is now also the default for all scaling operations in OpenWGA 7.0, even if you have the "Advanced Image Scaler" plugin installed.

If for some reason you still want to use the "Advanced Image Scaler" you can configure it to still be the default:

  • Enter OpenWGA admin client
  • Navigate in the menu to "Plugins > Plugin Store"
  • Ensure that you have the newest version of the "Advanced Image Scaler" installed. Upgrade in the case you don't.
  • Navigate in the menu to "Configuration > Basic Settings"
  • Click button "Edit"
  • Change settings "Image scaling: Format neutral" and "Image scaling: Mimetype specific" to "Advanced Image Scaler" and click button "Save"
