Custom Domino Databases: Support for reader item "DocReaders" needs to be enabled

The data source type "Custom Domino Database" has a feature where an item "DocReaders" on any document is used as read protection field. If it is filled then only those users may see this document whose user names, groups or roles are contained in the list value of this item.

Up until OpenWGA 6.1 this feature was auto-enabled if a document owns this item.

In OpenWGA 7.0 this feature needs to be enabled in the data source configuration if it should be used:

  • Enter the OpenWGA admin client, open the configuration of the data source and edit it
  • In section "Database Configuration" click on "Show/Hide more options" and in the appearing field find option Use "DocReaders" item for read protection. Select it to add it to the configuration
  • Enable the checkbox on the added option and click the "Save" button
For data sources of this type which do not use the "DocReaders" functionality it is recommended to not enable it, as this allows OpenWGA to use some memory optimizations for databases which do not use read protection.
